Our “baby unit” is a relaxed, cosy space where our youngest children can settle into the nursery routine. We will work closely with parents to follow your child’s sleep and weaning routines to ensure the transition from home to nursery is as stress free as possible. Our friendly staff are always available to talk to you about your child’s progress and create a good bond between your child and their designated key person. Your babies day will be filled with time to explore as they rapidly develop new skills.
Sunbeams Room – two to three years
In our “Tot’s Room” you will see a mix of adult led and child choice activities, often messy and always fun! There is plenty of space for active toddlers to move around enjoying story times, music sessions and using their imagination in role play games. We work on children’s listening skills and follow a daily routine so children can feel secure in their environment. As in the Raindrops Room your child will have a key person to monitor their progress and development. Our sunbeams are definitely little balls of energy…
Our “Pre-school Room” focuses on getting your child “school ready”. Many local schools have commented that they can tell when a child has been part of our nursery by how well they make the transition into school. There is still plenty of opportunity for imaginative play combined with developing listening and conversation skills. Children begin to work on early numeracy and literacy but during play and creative activities so learning is fun and enjoyable.
Our safe, enclosed outdoor area is used by all children from the babies to the Out of School club, with each room having their own time slots throughout the day. Children are encouraged to
explore the natural environment and love to plant seeds and making mud pies! Out door play is enjoyed in all weathers from Sports Days in the sunshine to snowman building in the snow.
Out of School Club
We also have a before and after school club for children up to twelve years old and run a Holiday Club during school holidays. Children help to plan their own activities based around their interests. They can relax with their friends, take part in craft activities, play on the games consoles or even do their homework if they want! We collect children from three local primary schools : Oakhill Primary School, Stoke Minster (CofE) Primary School and The Willows Primary School.
